Flat rate versus the meter
A meter charges for distance and time, so traffic on the 401, a long taxi to the stand and a slow customs hall all end up on your bill. A flat rate is agreed before the trip and does not move. Ours is set per city, is the same in either direction, adds no HST and has no booking fee. What changes with traffic is your arrival time, not your fare.

Pre-booked versus the kerb
A taxi from the stand is whichever car is next. A pre-booked car is assigned to you: you know the driver’s name, the car and the plate before the day, the driver knows your flight, and the car is at the terminal when you come out — including at 1 a.m., including when the flight is three hours late.
